OK.....now I'm sure Phil has taken a poll to back up his claim.....or maybe he's now the spokesperson for all the Shiite Muslims. You see, I just don't buy this "majority" stuff so easily.



To clarify, I buy that Shiite Muslims are in the majority populace-wise, but I don't buy that ALL Shiite Muslims want what Phil is hinting at. You know how gangs operate? Having been a High School teacher, I will tell you that in a gang of 25 kids, only 1 or 2 are interested in causing the trouble.....everybody else just follows. Mostly out of fear of reprisals. To reiterate, I don't believe that ALL Shiite Muslims are down on the US coming into Iraq.....maybe not even the majority of them. Fear (of other Muslims) is definitely a motivating factor in what we're seeing......how much would be really difficult to tell (Phil).

That the majority of any people in any country don't have a desire to be dominated by outsiders seems to be evident to me.

Dreamtone always wants "proof" but never reads it, and if he does, he never understands it, or swears it doesnt say what it says... hahahahahaha



But seems to require very little "proof" for approving governmental acts of agression and other atrocities.



anyway, the US expected that the "majority" of Iraqis would be estatic to see them and would welcome them with open arms. On what basis? We want proof of this "majority".



Is that claim believable to you? Did you ask for "proof" then?



On an aside Phil, my guess is that the Iraqis who were backing the invasion were only too pleased to USE someone, anyone to get rid of Sadam, and probably felt it was the least they (the US) could do. Apart from that they feel little else for their "liberators", and now want control back.

...sounds to me like you don't have any proof. What a surprise. No doubt there are many Iraqis who detest the US. And no doubt there are some who welcomed the US as liberators, and are glad that they are there for now helping to keep the peace. And I am sure that there are many who fit into Debs category as well.



I do hope, at this point, that it is apparent to all that some people tend to see things the way they want to....fueled by media hype, and ready to grasp at any sliver of opportunity to promote their agenda. Ready to buy into whatever portion of the truth that affirms their predisposed decision, and disregard the rest of it.



I never posted in this forum with an agenda....except to attempt to champion the truth. Folly?....probably. But it's been fun.



Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I hold no ill will to anyone who has posted here......but I think I'll hold off on beating the proverbial dead horse for awhile.....until the next "media circus" cuts loose with a fresh barrage of insinuations. 'Til then.......
