hahaha Interesting comment Drooly. I'm sure people in LA feel different to people in Louisiana who feel different to New York! And there ARE differences - and that's just within one country. And yes the Chinese & Japanese are very different. In fact, those that have visited both Japan and China immediately can see the differences. The only way they are similar is the black hair and dark eyes.
I know many foreigners have a difficult time at first differentiating between Filipinos, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Koreans here.
But amazingly (at least to a lot of Chinese people) all you Caucasians look the same - hahahahahhaa I'll never forget my friend who's 6 ft 7 with dark brown hair and eyes being mistaken for another friend who's 5ft 9 with sandy-blonde hair and brown eyes!! hahahahahaha
Hong Kong (and I'm being biased here!) is the BEST city in China - a former colony with world-class standards. As a city it's comparable to London, Sydney and New York. Very high-tech and very modern. SHanghai is catching up fast but doesn't have the freedom that we here in HK have (yet I hope!)
Also when people refer to Chinese people; they are referring to the majority in China (75%) called the "Han people" - there are many minorities in China including Uygur people who are Moslems and generally have blue eyes and Caucasian features - you see lots of them in Xinjiang and Beijing. Beautiful eyes. The women are stunning. You don't see UYgurs in HK.
