I don't know that you can get a mechanical licence for less than 500 Cd's. Why would you want to go buy a licence anyway ? This is a one off fun type comp. The songs aren't going to be sold to anyone and would only be on the web long enough to run this comp.

I'm not going to spend $75 for a fun thing.



Can Crowded House be one of those bands we pick ?

In order to release a cover recording you must buy a license from the publisher that gives you the rights to record the song.



The last time I licensed someone elses song was the Joni songs above and they cost me $75 to license both. Now it seema like the rules are all changed and "I don't get it?" I need some one who does get it to help me.
