I doubt the final will even come close to the game yesterday.

Even the BBC/London backs up my evaluation today:

Feast of football

By John May

If football is the beautiful game the World Cup semi-final between Italy and Germany was a super-model on a catwalk.

Dortmund's Westfalenstadion provided the perfect stage for what will go down as one of the classic World Cup encounters.

One of the best games of football I've ever seen !!

Best referree i've seen in this tournament as well, very fair, and not too harsh. He allowed the game too flow !

On balance, I felt Italy played a little better, But in no way would I take anything away from Germany. They were supreme !

Despite the result from Germany's point of view, I was glad it didn't go to penalty's ! It would have been a sad end to a superb game of football !

Funny really, Germany and Italy weren't particularly fancied before this tournament started, and here they were in the semi final giving us one of the greatest football matches, and both deserved to be finalists.

If France play as good a game as they did against Brazil, tonights match should be easy, and if they keep it up, it could be an excellent final !!

Germany must also be given great credit for doing an excellent job of hosting these finals !

Regards

Ian

Yup, Ian! :D

I also have to say the referee did a terrific job and did his very best to ensure a proper game-flow!

Well, this was a very special game and full of sportsmanship (some expected Italian high-jumps included... but... LOL) also after the end :)
