I use my pinky a lot! hahahaha Now can I go to Berkely???



Actually I broke the finger next to the pinky (what DO we call this finger in English? Is it ring finger?) on my left hand a few years ago and it healed up bent - just ask me to show you in person - I'm NOT taking pics of it - it means I don't have much flexibility in that finger so I've had to use my pinky to compensate..........

Interesting.....my ring-finger is fine, but I broke my pinky (left hand) and it healed up bent. Makes it difficult to do certain chords, but I've got stretch! The ring finger and pinky are connected together in a way that makes it harder to seperately use the two....at least that's what I've found.



Interesting trivia: Index and middle finger are connected to the top half of the body (nervous system) for articulation, and the ring and pinky to the lower half of the body for power. Try these:



1) Roll up a large piece of paper with just the index, middle and thumb (of both hands). Then try again with just the ring and pinky. You will probably find it easier with your middle and index. Some will say "duh", but then try this.



2) Get a small bar (as used for a dumbell) and hold it straight out in front of you, horizontally, with first one set of fingers and have a friend push or pull on the bar. Then try with the other set. What you will find is that it is much easier to get you off balance when you are using just your index and middle fingers. The ring and pinky are connected directly to the legs!
