Hey Steve,

I'm not saying that exactly, but I see where you're coming from. No, I don't think we shld keep it in the household per se...

If you don't like the place, why take their money or tour there? The cash is certainly good enough for him, and I'll betchya he gets paid in US funds.

And, freedom of speech is not absolute. We have laws prohibiting people to utter death threats...slander....libel.

Again, this is not a political or national matter, but a lack of etiquette in my opinion.(the statement, not the backlash)

Now, I do raise issue with banning records and what not,and that's where this gets sticky. That's ridiculous and you're right, lots of Americans say the same about their land.

I just think the old "if you don't have anything nice to say..."cliche could have been exercised.

I'm really not into sensorship Steve...but this statement did nothing in terms of creating awareness to a wrong that needs righting or anything to that effect. Just a grumpy old man bitching(and getting paid large).

If I came to your house and started saying that your kids are ugly....would that be freedom of speech or just plain illmannered stupidity? Would you kick me out?

I think Anderson was just stating the obvious and being a grump. He offered very little in terms of scope, and wasn't championing an awareness movement of anykind. If there was something profound about his statement, I might have a different opinion.

BUT, the banning of airplay is a serious issue, and I am in total disagreement of the reaction his comments created. America is supposed to be the land of the free, but in the last 2 years, have been alienating the very fundamentals that make them great. Let's keep in mind that things are a little sensitive over there since 9/11.

Anyway, all this to say that no, I do not support censorship...but, I do believe in being a good guest.

Mum would be proud!
